Animals as Healers

Is medicine going to the dogs?

Yes, but in a good way. Pet therapy is gaining fans in health care and beyond.

Animal-assisted therapy is a growing field that uses dogs to help people recover

from or better cope with health problems, such as heart disease, cancer, physical ailments

and mental health disorders  In fact, contact with a compassionate animal can significantly

improve mental and physical health, as well as reduce stress, depression and anxiety.

Knoxi is my Assisted Therapy Dog "In-Training".

She is a 3 year old, non-shedding Border Collie and Miniature Poodle cross and is

up-to-date on all vaccinations. She loves being around people and is extremely friendly

and affectionate, while being patient, confident, gentle, and at ease in all situations.

Once fully Certified, she will able to serve in a variety of meaningful positions,

allowing me the opportunity to share my dog’s love with all individuals in need.

Until then, she will be ONLY be in attendance during occasional sessions

to practice her skills and only with your approval. If you prefer Knoxi NOT be

in attendance during your treatment, do not hesitate to let me know.

UPDATE:  Knoxi has one exam left and should be ready to Assist in the fall of 2023!!
